Many Years ago, when I first began to sense that God
was calling me to preach His Word, I turned to the First Epistle to
Timothy for guidance. One of the first verses in the letter
states Paul's purpose in writing to Timothy,
For the goal of our instruction is love, from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.
In one short verse I found, not only a worthy goal, but the means to get there.
Jesus gave a new commandment, "Love One Another." But how can we do that?
The answer lies in the three foundation stones that are laid down in 1 Timothy 1:5.
- A Pure Heart
- A Good Conscience
- A Sincere Faith
Based on this verse, I seek to present God's Word in a way that will motivate and equip people to seek for God to lay these foundation stones in their own lives
- A Heart cleansed from sin through repentance and faith,
-
A Conscience informed by Scripture to correctly judge right and wrong,
-
A Faith that trusts in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ for forgivness.
